Marriage.
Just the word stirs so many emotions in any given heart. It is the melding of two lives, two hearts and opinions and gift-sets and traditions. It is companionship and laughter and inside jokes and stolen moments. Marriage is the comfort of being known and seen and loved despite our marring and sin. It’s transforming and sanctifying, and occasionally magical.
And it’s difficult, fraught with frustration and annoyance and hurt. Marriage is time-consuming and work — and your spouse is ALWAYS THERE. It requires transparency and tenderness which leaves us open and vulnerable. It reveals our awkwardness, our weakness, our selfishness. Marriage requires much of us every day, and when we fail to show up and do the work, our marriages become chaotic, fractured, hostile or dead.
Marriage is designed for our happiness and our holiness, but ultimately it’s for God’s glory. When we dare to believe that God has a good plan for our marriage, our perspective is lifted above the fray and the chaos. We see His call to live surrendered to Him and His Word, to walk in humility, grace and intentionality with our spouse, to do the hard and holy work even when we’re weary.
Join us for the Marriage Seminar on Sunday, February 2 as we realign our vision of marriage with the heart of God. We will have two main sessions as well as several breakouts for you and your spouse to choose from that evening…. If your marriage is bliss or heartache, new or 50 years in the making, we would love to see you there.
