Q&A

When are the Love Week projects taking place?

Love Week projects will take place throughout the week of October 4-10. Some projects will take place during the day, some in the evening and some on the weekend.

Where are the Love Week projects taking place?

Several Love Week projects will be taking place onsite at our Manassas and Winchester campuses. However, most Love Week projects will take place on the actual sites of the local neighborhoods, ministries, organizations and municipalities that we are partnering with for Love Week. The location and description of each Love Week project will be available once you click on a project.

Are the Love Week projects family friendly?

Many Love Week projects are family-friendly, but they are age-specific as to what is the most appropriate age for each project. The recommended appropriate ages will be listed when you click on a project.

How long will each Love Week project take?

We have tried to make sure each Love Week project is adequately staffed with enough volunteers so that it won’t take too much time to complete it. Most projects will take about 2-3 hours.

What day and time are the Love Week projects?

The specific day and time that each project will take place is available when you click on the project description.

How will I know what I need to bring to serve on my LOVE project?

Each Love Week project will have a Project Lead. They will be contacting you leading up to your Love Week project with the specific details for your project.

What safety protocols will be in place while I’m serving on my project(s) as it relates to Covid-19?

We will be providing paper masks, gloves and hand sanitizer for each of our projects. We will also be discouraging hugging and handshakes and encouraging appropriate social distancing.

Can I serve on more than one Love Week project?

Absolutely! We will have Love Week projects going on all week long so we welcome people signing up to be on more than one project if their schedules permit.

Will there be childcare available if I'm serving on a project?

We will not be providing childcare. If you have children that are attending your serve with you, make sure you are signed up for a ‘family friendly’ age appropriate project. Each project has a suggested minimum age of participation. That will help guide you in your choice(s).

Will there be Love Week serve t-shirts provided? If so, is there a cost and how will I get mine?

Yes! We are providing Love Week serve t-shirts at no cost to you. When you sign up for a project(s), your project lead will coordinate getting your t-shirt to you. For most, you will receive your serve t-shirt from your project lead when you arrive at your project.

Can I serve on a Love Week project from a different campus than I attend?

Absolutely!

What should I bring with me to my project?

Bring any personal items you may need during your project: drinking water, snacks, sneakers, a hat, etc. Your project lead can confirm any project-specific items you may need to bring: gloves, rakes, lawnmowers, tarps, work tools, etc. Work clothes are a good idea for serve opportunities requiring physical labor, and we recommend not wearing jewelry.
