BUILDING A LEGACY

As we come to the end of 2021, we are absolutely amazed at what God has done in and through our church. We have seen His faithfulness every step of the way and are excited for what is right in front of us.

One of the biggest miracles our church has ever experienced happened this summer, when we signed a contract on 17.2 acres of land in Gainesville, VA. This land will allow us to build a ~50,000 sq. ft. building that will facilitate our mission of leading people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus. This building will have state of the art kids and youth spaces, a beautiful 1,000 seat auditorium, and the ability to facilitate missions and outreach initiatives that will impact the community around us.

Each year, we get the opportunity to participate in our annual faith offering, where we give above what we normally give so that we can go beyond where we normally go. This year, we have the opportunity to give towards this building project, which is most significant project in the history of our church. Our goal for this year’s Legacy Offering is $700,000, which will give us our down payment for this land, which is due in the first quarter of 2022.

We’ve asked each family in our church to do three things:

PRAY.

Pray about what God wants you to give. Ask God to put a number on your heart that takes sacrifice and reflects faith-filled generosity as we give towards a cause that advances the cause of Christ.

PLAN.

We believe that faith is not living on a whim. Faith involves intentionality, strategy, and boldness. Our prayer for this offering is that our church not only prays into it, but saves, plans, and prepares to give an offering that will honor God.

PARTICIPATE WITH PASSION.

It’s not about equal amounts of giving; it’s about equal passion and sacrifice. What if everyone in this house prayed, planned, and then passionately participated at whatever level they were able? We know what would happen – we would see a miracle!

We’re excited and full of faith. We are asking you to pray, plan, and participate with us on December 5. We are asking every family that calls this church home to be present for the Legacy Offering, which will be received during our services on December 5. It’s going to be a special moment as we worship God by bringing these offerings. But if you can’t attend in person, you can give online anytime between now and December 31.

2 Corinthians 8:1-5 NLT

Now I want you to know, dear brothers and sisters, what God in his kindness has done through the churches in Macedonia. They are being tested by many troubles, and they are very poor. But they are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity.

For I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford, but far more. And they did it of their own free will. They begged us again and again for the privilege of sharing in the gift for the believers in Jerusalem. They even did more than we had hoped, for their first action was to give themselves to the Lord and to us, just as God wanted them to do.
